Chad's Q & A
Weddings School Events Clubs Private Parties Class Reunions Non Profit Orgs Music Equipment Light Show Top 200 Songs Places Played Chad's Q & A

The following is a question & answer page of some commonly asked questions, and/or some maybe you should be asking when hiring a DJ.

1. Will you be dressed appropriately for my event?

Of, course! I wear a Full tuxedo at wedding receptions. Dockers, and a collared business shirt for all other events.

2. WILL CHAD HAVE THE MUSIC MY GUESTS WANT MY Event?

Guaranteed!!!! I say this because my music library is very enormous ranging from all eras, styles, and music tastes. I also puts "request coupons" on each table so each guest may request their own taste in music.

3. IF CHAD PLAYS REQUESTS DOES THAT MEAN HE WILL PLAY EVERYTHING THAT IS REQUESTED?

Actually, No! This is when people wonder why. While I do try to play all requests, due to time constraints, there are only so many songs I can play in an evening. I do play the requests that appeal to the overall crowd at your event. Sometimes guests request inappropriate songs that may offend some people. Heavy metal or gansta rap with objectionable language for example at a wedding reception could cause some individuals to be offended and leave. I do promise to do everything in my power to play as many requests as I can at your event though.

4. WHO CONTROLS THE SOUND LEVEL AT MY EVENT?

YOU DO! Many people are surprised to hear this but, you actually do. Lots of entertainers believe louder is better, and if you have the equipment then use it. I believe the music needs to be heard but not overpower your guests. Background music is just that, music that helps to alleviate the dead sound in a hall. The main music should not blare, but be heard and enjoyed. If you feel the volume is to loud, please ask me to turn it down, I appreciate the honesty of someone asking me to turn the volume up or down rather than be unhappy.

5. WHAT IS THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK WHEN LOOKING FOR A DJ?

Believe it or not, many people overlook this one. The first question you should ask when looking for entertainment is "Do you have my date available?" After you find out if the date is available, you need to ask what kind of service is provided for your particular event, and how much experience does the DJ have not only as a DJ, but how many events has the DJ done similar to yours. Price should always be last, but remember you do get what you pay for!

6. HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DOES CHAD HAVE AT ENTERTAINING AT WEDDING RECEPTIONS?

I entertain at nearly 35 Wedding Reception a year, and have done so for almost 15 years. I know the in & out of wedding receptions, just as the people that run the local banquet facilities!

7. If YOU HIRE CHAD BENDER COULD I GET SOMEONE ELSE?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Unlike some of the other local companies, when you hire me, you get me. I am the sole owner/operator of my business. If you hire other companies beware they recruit young kids to run their equipment, and where do they train? YOUR EVENT!

8. WHAT IS YOUR SETUP TIME?

Well this varies, private parties setup can take about an hour, wedding and larger events can take about 3 hours. Remember, you are not billed for my setup to tear down time. you only pay for the amount of time I entertain. Setup & teardown time is MY TIME NOT YOURS!

9. DO I PAY EXTRA FOR A LIGHT SHOW?

Not at all, my light show no matter how big is included with your price. My light show does however require  3 separate circuits. Sometimes I am limited in power at some establishments. I set up as large as light show (or small) as you wish depending on the establishments power availability.

10. DO YOU OFFER KARAOKE?

Unfortunately, no. A Karaoke DJ uses completely different equipment to entertain with. This is why entertainers choose one or the other.

11. SHOULD YOU TIP A DJ?

Tips are not expected, but if you feel they deserve a special thank you, tips are extremely well appreciated.
